4 Days Left In Tucson

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 3rd Feb 2015

We are officially half way thru our trip to Tucson.  The variety of material here is mind boggling.  I managed to not spend all my money the first day!  A feat in itself.  My plan on staying in budget went out the window quickly.

I have picked up amazing material.  Austria, Norway, Africa, South Africa, Afganistan to name a few of the exotic places that they have come from.

Always on the look out for new material, I have gotten some new material from New Mexico it is similar to jade.  This is from the sweetest gentleman who is on his first trip to Tucson.  I hope he does very well.

As for my list of material I came to look for, I have not been successful.  The Morrisonite claim holders that I have dealt with say "no more".  Not seeing any Ocean Jasper that isn't already worked or slabbed.  Still have more time and 40 shows to hit.  A lofty goal.

As it is, the back of the truck is nearly full.  We will need to reorganize to be able to fit more material in it.  I am positive it can hold hundreds of pounds of rock yet.  Alan looks at me and sadly shakes his head.  I have been know to ride very long distances with my feet on rocks so that my knees are to my chest, so I know we can get more rocks yet.

Having fun.
