We took a break from packing.  My best place to go is Cayucos, Ca.  On the same bay as Morro Bay, Cayucos is a throw back to the 60s and 70s.  Downtown consists of 3 blocks.  Everyone has there dogs playing on the beach which is one of the cleanest beaches I have ever seen.  There is nothing better than walking along the beach watching a beautiful sunset along with dolphins and sea otters playing in the surf.

Just to the north is the Elephant Seal Beach.  Currently it is occupied by the males, big bulls showing off their big chests.  We always like to stop by and see the action.  

North of that we went to Jade Cove.  The hike to the water line  is very steep with the last 15 feet requiring you use a rope to get done.  We didn't find any jade.  Collecting is only allowed below the water line.  The show from the blue whales was amazing tho.  There were 3 different pods playing of the coast.  Simply amazing.

On our way home we had to stop in Nipomo, Ca for their annual gem and mineral show.  Visiting with friends is always fun.  Managed to score some large pieces of jade that we would not have been able to haul out of Jade Cove.  Hope to get one piece on the saw tomorrow.  Now that I have more to work, I can put mine up on the web site.
