Always a Surprise!

There is always a surprise when you work with rocks.  Like the Malachite Sphere I made that the vug filled with white and all of sudden when cleaning to go to polish, becomes Chrysocolla, the Red Lightening sphere got a cleaning today.  Amazing the red color in the vug turned white!  It sure does create a stunning contrast to the reds in the rest of the sphere.

I have broken into my Bumble Bee Jasper stash.  My sphere supply has dwindled.  It is always a "wow" when you open the saw after cutting this material.  The yellows and oranges are stunning.  Working on rounding up the first or 4 I hope to get.

Another Chrysocolla sphere and Malachite sphere are waiting for their turn on the slowest machine.  They do require a slightly gentler approach.

We have a business dilemma going on.  We have the opportunity to obtain a very large and expensive piece of Russian Chariote.  Alan absolutely loves the stuff.  Yes purple is one of my favorite colors.  The discussion continues as I cringe at the cost.   You just might be seeing some stunning purple spheres coming available.
