An Engineer is an Engineer is an…………..

Turns out I married the wrong type of engineer!  I didn't know how important the type of engineer was.  I must admit when I married my guy I didn't know I was going to go into the rock business and how important the correct type of engineer was going to be.

This tirade is due to the fact that when you purchase ancient equipment, it needs continual tinkering to keep it running in top order.  I, of coarse being a woman, think I should be able to just turn on what ever I want to use, and it should work.  With that very sexist statement having been said, this is sadly the farthest from the truth.  Having finally gotten the parts for one saw, now another is out of commission.

You must understand, this is not like a car repair that has a parts store on every corner.  The first step is figuring out which of the 4 lapidary companies the  equipment was made from.  Next you have to figure out what needs replacing.  This can be a difficult step.  We have replaced parts only to find that it was not necessary.  Next is the "that part is on back order and will be available in 3 months if it makes it into that shipment".  I think you see what I mean, but I am off the subject.

An engineer!   My man is a chemical engineer.  That means he likes chemical equations not how intricate parts work.  Thank goodness he loves me, other wise I would be trying to figure the "Greek" all by myself.  Love my man!!!!!!
