Back From One and Getting Ready for the Next.

We got back from the West Coast Gem and Mineral Show late last night. When you have a hotel room to display your creations, you tend to take much more product. Break down was long and exhausting and then you have to put the furniture back. This consists of moving heavy objects. I am thankful that we did well.
Two of my favorite importers of rough rock were at this show. Friday night we had dinner with our friend from Phoenix. He and his wife have been doing the rock thing for 30 years now. They were the individuals that encouraged me to sign up for this show to begin with. He allows me to barrel dive at his house and purchase small amounts of material instead of buying a full drum, which is how he normally sells his rough rock. It ended up being a long night full of tales. Great fun!.
Then there is the other big name. They have allowed me into their rock warehouse in Tucson. 2 employees to move rocks around so I can see what is on the bottom of the pallet. Loves to tell stories of his rise in the business. We always get treated as if we are big buyers when we are really small fry in the amount of purchases we make. He and his wife are just delights.
Now comes the challenge. Having the Apache Junction show next weekend, I have 2 days to unload, decide what I will take to fit in a much smaller space and reload. This is a high volume slab show. I will not have room to take all the spheres, but want to take a representation of the ones I have. Decisions.
Thanks for reading........
