Bummer Weather

I know I shouldn't complain, but we are expecting 2 days of heavy rains.  In comparison to what the rest of the country, it really shouldn't be an issue.  I am just not sure I have enough to keep me busy in the garage.  Heaven forbid I should have to resort to cleaning the house.  UGH!

I have been cutting the metal rocks.  I had an interesting euphony.  When you scrub the slabs they actually look beautiful.  This was particularly evident with the Specular Hematite.  When you first cut it, it has an ugly coating of this nasty red.  It is how Hematite got it's name, blood red.  Still not sure how it will look sphered, but should be interesting.  The Copper Rose could stand to have more copper in it, but should be interesting.  I now have 3 cubes of Indonesian Marcasite from 2 different rocks.  The patterns are very different between the 2.  Also will be curious how they will polish.

Finally finished 4 fluorite spheres of Namibian origin.  I have never had such difficulties with this material.  The 4th one just won't polish.  I am running out of options.

I still have one sphere machine and one saw down.  Sigh.  Alan is in the middle of a big proposal at work so it will be awhile until anything gets repaired.  Sure wish he would retire.  (Pretty sure this is exactly why he hasn't).
