Chop Saw.

It is really called a concrete drop saw, the newest addition to my arsenal.  I have had it about 4 weeks now and am getting comfortable using it.  I have discovered it works well for making cubes of soft materials if there is one 3 sided corner already made.  It also works well to Take the corners of of soft material.  My best time is making 8 preforms in 34 minutes.  Keep in mind, of the regular saw it takes 1.5 days to do this.  The limiting factor is how long my joints can withstand the movements involved.

Today I continued to experiment.  I successfully cornered 3 very small Copper Rose, 2 Specular Hematite, and 2 Indonesian Marcasites.  All except the hematite are much harder that what I had been cutting.  This took 38 minutes. Yippee.

I also managed to complete the first of the new Parrot Wing out of Mexico.  It has taken a very nice polish.  Once again this is slight undercutting between the different materials.  Very pleased with this purchase!

Well, laundry calls.  Thanks for reading.......
