Monday starts my final work week as a Neuro-Trauma ICU RN.  I have distinct feelings about leaving an institution that I have been a part of for the last 32 years.  At times I have been worn ragged by the work loads and my emotions  torn and tattered.  Then there are the "ones" that remind you why you became a nurse.

The mother of one of those "ones" found me on FaceBook this morning.  The private message she left me was endearing.  Her daughter was a "save" after having been broadsided by a fire truck, back in school and doing very well.  Considering the extent of her head injury, her progress has been nothing short of amazing.  

So Wednesday I go into work, turn in my badge and parking and say good bye.
