Finally!

A day for many "finallys".  The second Dead Camel Jasper sphere is round!  I hate to think how many hours this took to grind.  The next challenge will be to see how long it will take to get the scratches from the rough grind out.  I tweaked the grind process (why it took longer), so hopefully the next stages will be straight forward.

Finally the new polish is here!  I will try the Dead Camel with this material and compare it to the first one I finished.  It shall be interesting to see if there is a difference.  This material was recommended by Philip Stevenson, the miner of the Dead Camel.  Not sure how it will work with a sphere.  I really do not want to hand polish it.  The arthritis in my hands does not like that.

Finally all 4 sphere machines are running!  Dead Camel Jasper on the high speed, Australian Crazy Lace grinding on the medium speed machine, Peruvian Chrysocolla and Noble Serpentine on the slow machines.

Finally there are round balls waiting for the high speed machine.  The first Australian Crazy Lace looks good so far.  Then there is an English Barrite and Lapis Lace ready to go.

It seems to have taken a long time to get this far.

The saws have been singing and many cubes have been made.  Currently an African Tiger Eye and an Indio Gabbro are having corners remove.

Once again waiting for a new pulley for one of the 24" saws.  Just really need to get ahead on this parts thing.  Drives me crazy that equipment is down.

Thanks for reading.....
