Yesterday was very productive. Finished 6 spheres. I think the Sodalte sphere turned out very nicely. I love the pale pinks along with the deep dark blue. Namibia sure has beautiful material.
The Chinese Pietersite is very fussy. It's the type of material that you end up going back and forth on. The results I believe are worth it.
I also finished 3 Kaily Agate spheres for one of the editors of Lapidary Journal. I have 2 more boulders to work up. Then we will divide up the spheres. Maybe by June.......
The new Australian Parrot Wing Jasper is beautiful. Still cutting on the edges, so I don't know if it will hold together for a sphere. The Chrysocolla with the Malachite and Cuprite is stunning.
Another in the saw is the Red Lightening Agate from Mexico. All I can say is WOW. The one side we are cutting is solid. The flames of red going through the clear agate should look stunning when sphered. This is one of the rocks that is so hard the saw does not want to cut it. It will be a slow work because that means it will take forever to get round.
Still to cut is the Fantasy Jasper (Mexico) more Parrot Wing Jasper, Opalised Serpentine, Black Jade with Magnesite, Lucern Variscite. I had better get busy since I have made all the rock we brought home last year.
Thanks for reading....
