Happy New Year!

A little late! I have been busy, but I don't know doing what. I haven't been in the shop.
The year started out with a bang. our Nevada friends spent several days over the New year with us after dropping off their inventory in Quartzsite. It was a great visit.
We have done the Flagg show at the Mesa Community College. It was good to be set up next to our Phoenix friends.
This last week had 2 runs to Quartzsite. I was a very good girl and stayed within my Quartzsite budget. (unlike previous years). I made some stunning finds. I am thrilled to have gotten more red jasper with hematite from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I had some of this material 5 years ago. The jasper is a dull red but the Hematite just pops.
I will be trying Chloride Marble from Canada. It is a vibrant green that might be chatoyant. Alan picked out some African tigereye that looks to be gold and blue. Will have to cut to see if the blue goes all the way through.
That was Wednesdays shopping trip. We went again yesterday. Was able to get back home before the weather went crazy. It looks like we got 2 inches of ice and 1 inch of snow overnight. There will be more weather to follow over the next 3 days. No Pow Wow for us this year.
Yesterday's purchases included green tourmaline in a cloudy quartz. Looks like it will present a new challenge to work. The ruby in fuschite has lots of kyanite in it. Have not seen rough of this material in a long time. I also scored Rosetta Stone. Yipee.
Alan got to pick out snowflake obsidian. I do not understand his fascination with this material but I need to keep the man happy. He doesn't crab at me as much for my purchases that way. He also got some Lucerne varicite. Oh well.
What I forgot to mention were all the goodies from Glen Archer of Australia Outback Mining. There was the Chrome calcedony, Dragon Stone and most exciting, pollucite in pegmatite! I already have a piece of this in the saw. I have made 2 spheres of this previously for Glen and it turns out stunning. As it was pre covid and I didn't think I would be able to get more material, I did not take notes. :-(
Not sure what I will be able to accomplish as I have to start organizing for the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show next month and we leave for Tucson to our purchasing spree in 10 days. Like I really need more rough rock......
