In the Heat.

So of course as soon as my sister returns to Wisconsin, we get heated up. Over 90 degrees in the garage becomes too hot to work. The motors do not like to run well and I do not function at my best either.
Over the last 2 days I have been able to get moving on some material. I hope to be able to finish 2 Sodalite spheres, Sonora Dendritic Rhyolite and a Eudialyte sphere. I think I have finally gotten all the scratches out of a larger Red Lightening Agate sphere. The Fantasy Jasper is a slow work in progress, the spots of fingernail polish are finally getting smaller. I have another Chariot in the works.
I have been taking the corners of a new material for me. Its called Reef Coral Amethyst. It is just about the darkest Amethyst I have seen. Will be interesting to see what challenges it will give me.
Alan has a Picasso Marble on the large saw. Wants slabs for cabbing. The upside is I eventually get a cube out of it. His cabbing is coming along nicely. He does do beautiful work as long as some one does the prep work in the beginning and the final polish of the back at the end. The eldest son does a great job of marking the patterns for the cabs. He has a very good eye for it. I have been finishing the backs on the rotary lap while my sphere machines are running.
2 more days off before back to work. 10 more shifts to go. We've already been on lock down once for the shooting on campus. Very sad. Should be interesting to see what other things can happen before I leave.
