We are back from the Carrisite Mine in Eastern Oregon.  What a trip!

We had a long and very hot drive through Neveda full a perils.  Stopped overnight in a small mining town in western Nevada.  Overnight someone tried to steal the truck.  Good thing the alarm system is very loud.  After 3 attempts they finally gave up.  Day temps while driving reached 106 degrees.  UGH.

Our first long stop was Bandon Oregon.  I was disappointed to find the rock shop north of town was closed and the owners had retired.  The weather was wonderful after all the heat on the road.  We actually had to run the electric heater at night.  Bandon has the best crab cakes ever!

From there we headed to the Carrisite mine in Eastern Oregon.  It is always fun to be with the I.O.N. mining group.  The Carrisite and Pride claim materials are simple amazing.  We got to go back to the 100+ weather which was uncomfortable.  Saving grace was the fact that the rocks they pulled out of the pits were frozen, you got a bit of AC while you worked.

Most of the Carrisite was too small for my use.  The Pride pit pulled some War Paint Jasper.  This stuff has crazy patterns that should look stunning in spheres.  Not sure how it will polish but it may not matter if the patterns are good.  Of course I brought some home.
