We have been waiting a month for them.  They hit yesterday afternoon with a vengeance.  They are here again today.  

Monsoon season starts out with a cloudless sunny morning.  Between noon and 2 the clouds roll in and you hear distant thunder.  The rains will be very patchy, but when it happens, the skies open up and it is like a pitcher of water is being poured.  this will happen on and off for several hours where an inch or more will fall in a very short time.  The temperature will drop 20 degrees or more with humidity going from 15% to 100.

The only thing I do not enjoy is when the thunder and lightening happen together.
