New Goodies!

I think I am finally getting back into the swing of things! It sure has taken a long time!
Last week we drove down to Phoenix to pick up half of my Tucson purchases. Ching Ching. I did have to add to the pile from Bruce's personal stash. I should wear blinders when walking through his side yard. It all starts with him bragging about the goodies he has high graded. Of course I must have a piece or two. We just now unloaded the truck of the 1000 pounds of rock.
The Tiffany stone I purchased in October is finally getting worked into spheres. None will be particularly large but the colors are very impressive. Another material I need blinders for as the price just keeps going up. I have cut 2 boulders, 4 spheres, 2 will be the purple variety and 2 have significant orange in them. That is the really good stuff that I hadn't seen for sale since we first started all this rock nonsense.
The new Shattuckite not of Mexico is working up nicely. I think this will be an impressive one. The colors are brilliant.
I have a Marra Mamba I have repeatedly gone back and forth on. It just does not like the final diamond cups. I did try going to polish early without success. This one may go on the shelf of shame, never to be worked again.
I now have many cubes waiting to have the corners removed. Since Alan has taken over one of the 18" saws for slabbing, I now have a bottle neck. sigh.
One of my Quartzsite acquisitions, Yttrium Fluorite is going to be impressive pending if I don't mess it up. The first of the boulder is having its corners removed. This material looks to have a light shining from inside it, almost how one would describe an aura. It is a lavender in color. I had only found one piece in Q but my buddy Bruce was able to score an additional 150 pounds in Tucson for me.
As we unloaded I tossed a Lion's Skin into the saw. This stuff is all golden! Reminds me some of the Golden Amphibolite out of Australia, but seems to have more of a Tigereye effect. Not sure how it will work in a sphere but I sure am going to give it my best shot.
The other 24" saw is finishing cutting up the Yttrium Fluorite. Next will be the Swiss Coffee rock out of china. The patterns in this stuff reminds me of Polish Flint. My only hope is is not as hard but takes the same amazing polish.
Rain tomorrow will be a good reason to stay with the indoor machines. Yipee
