Not Sure Which is Worse.

I have complained about how hot it gets when the temperature outside is 100 degrees.  Now I will complain when the temperature outside is 39!  I end up looking like Nannuk of the north.  I will have a heavy down jacket, (yes I have one living in Los Angeles), long underwear under my blue jeans, a big fuzzy hat and ski gloves on.  That usually lasts until 10 am when my fingers and toes start to thaw.  I am developing a very narrow tolerance for temperatures.

I am very pleased with my latest creations.  Now for the ones that are being a challenge.  The Indian Blanket sphere developed 2 crumble spots when I was in the polish stage.  I went back all the way to 400 to get them better.  They are still there, but improved.  I have worked it all the way to the end of the process and now the polish is not as good as it was the last time.  This material has given me nightmares.

The Indian Paint Rock Sphere refuses to get round.  There is one area that insists on grinding away faster than the rest.  Anyone think I should stay away from anything Indian for awhile?

I have a Plasma Agate that should be able to go on the high speed machine tomorrow. there is also a Fluorite sphere that might end up a marble once I am past a fracture.  The Mookaite sphere is just starting its grind to round.  I expect this one will take a long time.  Crossing my fingers that there isn't a fracture that will not hold together.  This material seems to have a lot of them.

The saws have been busy!  I have cubed some new material from England.  Have to figure out the spelling of it, I can't read the receipt.  Then there is a Thulite from Ludlow that is already sold and a Jade that is just getting the corners cut off.  African TigerEye is in the 24".  It was very popular these last couple of months and I have only 2 left.

The parts for the new (used ) 24" saw should be on there way.  It will be good to get them all up and running.  We will see how long I can keep 4 saws going without one of them breaking down again.  I do know I will need a new saw blade for the new machine.  I will cross my fingers that it will last until the new year.

In between the saws and spheres, I have been putting away all the rocks in the house.  Gotta make room for the holiday decorations.  As you can imagine, I am as crazy about them as I am about the rocks.  Therefore every thing must be packed up to make room.  I can't start baking until the house is decorated!
