Peacocks Are Quiet In The Rain.

This last weekend was spent at a Gem and Mineral Show at the LA County Arboretum.  As usual, we had rain.  Luckily it only rained for 5 hours on Sunday.  Much to my surprise, the peacocks were quiet.  Not a peep during the rain.  It was shocking not to hear their calls.

Being a weather dependent type of place, attendance was still pretty good.  I believe that everyone flocked to the building that we were in to escape the rain.  Amazingly, Sunday turned out to be our better day.

I am trilled to have 3 full weeks off until our next show.  That will be March 30th through April 2nd in Joshua Tree.  We will have to see if this rainy weather pattern is going to break soon.  It could be a very cold and rainy weekend.  Also this is a new show for the Sportsman's Club to increase their fund raising for their battered women's home.  We are crossing our fingers that it is a huge success!

Today is going to be the day that my second Dead Camel Jasper finally gets round.  I may be staying up all night to see it happen.  I was able to show off the first one completed this last weekend.  There were a lot of Oh's and Ah's regarding the material.  This one will have more chocolate brown in it and not as much blue.

The first of 2 Australian Crazy Lace Agate spheres are almost round.  The second still has corners to cut.  This material is so very different than the previous ones I have made.  It will be interesting to see if it works up the same.

There is an English Barrite grinding also.  It will be smaller than the previous one made but will have orbs too.  I am so pleased I was able to obtain more of this material in January.

Norwegian Thulite being  cubed.  I think I will have enough material to make one other sphere of this.  There is a Peruvian Chrysocolla almost finished being cubed too.

Lastly I will need to dismantle part of the newer 24" saw to see what is going on with one of the pulleys.  Ugh!  Once again I will be waiting on parts.  My goal is to start buying 2 of everything so I will have all the pieces I need.
