Have decided that for every amazing choice I make in rock purchases, I make one not so great.

Case in point: The Pinolith Spheres are turning out better than I expected.  I have finished 2 with a 3rd almost ready to polish.  I think it is truly beautiful material.  2 more are ready to go on the forming machine.  

On the flip side is the Norwegian Thulite.  This material is different from any Thulite I have seen before.  Such dark pinks.  Unfortunately I will only get one sphere from my purchase.  Those nasty fractures turn up at the most inopportune times and the second sphere will now just be slabs.  

This weekend is the Gem and Mineral show at the LA Arboretum.  Its my chance to show my sis, that is visiting from Wisconsin, that we are  not the only crazy rock people out there.  The weather should be in the 80's.  She just might not want to go back until after the spring thaw.
