Play Date

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 2nd Nov 2019

Yesterday was a play date with Bruce and Debbie.  As always, it is a great get together that goes by much too quickly.

A favorite supplier of mine, Bruce always has some new material that I must bring home. (I always need more rock.  LOL)  This time it was a new purple sagenite from China.  I already have one piece in the saw and it looks amazing!  It is a lavender with white sagenite sprays.  It look to be very solid and should take a beautiful polish.

Another is a new red Stromatolite also from China. This material reminds me of Indian Paint rock.  I expect it will take a matte finish.  The patterns are very picturesque with the Stromatolite appearing as red trees on a brown landscape.

I poked and poked looking for more Sonora Sunrise to no avail.  Bruce may just have hid it from me to see how crazy I would go in my search.  I have been known to jump from barrel to barrel to poke in the ones in the back.

I did bring back another piece of Chrysocolla form Mexico.  I just can't resist the blues.

Tomorrow I plan on finishing an Apache Gold that is waiting for polish.  I have a lot of material waiting for rough grind. I did manage to find my second set of grinding cups and have broken my golden rule and am rough grinding on my polishing machines.  That will change tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.....
