Polishing Jade: WARNING ALERT

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 1st Apr 2015

I am going to take my frustrations out here!  I have been working on a large Jade Sphere for 2 months now.  GRRRRR. My frustration level is at a new high!

Rule #1 broken:  This all started with a "Sure I can make larger that 4 inches".  My first mistake.  My machines do not like larger than 4 inches.  I have had to resort to working only on my slowest machine.  It took a full 6 weeks to get the darn thing round.

Rule #2 broken: " I have made one Jade Sphere, It wasn't too difficult".  I didn't go and look at my notes for that one Jade sphere I had made.  Looking back, I'm surprised I had any hair to pull out this time around.

Rule #3 broken:  Think twice about doing work for other individuals.  I forget that everything seems to take 2 - 3 times longer than I think it should.

Now that I have vented my frustrations, I shall try a different polish combination.  This time I think I'll use suede instead of felt or silk.  Or should I try felt over metal cups instead of the plastic I used before.  Hmmmmm.

Thanks for reading.
