Quartzsite and Back!

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 9th Dec 2016

Round trip driving: 10 hours.  Starting at 0400.  Back by 7 pm.  Pretty amazing trip!  I was exhausted by the time I got back.  It was very exciting to watch the pallets of rocks being removed from the semi with a fork lift!  The first glimpse after cutting away the plastic wrapping......  breath taking.  It was so much fun to be in Quartzsite when my friends got there rock shipment from Germany!  I felt like I was a big cheese in the rock world.

The return to real life was not as much fun.  I have only one of each of the material that was sphere size.  The disadvantage of being a sphere maker is not all material comes large enough for spheres.  The Eudialyte from Sweden is just amazing!  The Thulite from Norway equally so.  A very nice boulder of Pinolith too.  I was hoping for material I had not cut before, not happening on this trip.  I will just have to wait.

Today the 24" saw gets a cleaning.  UGH.  Such a mess I become.  It will be an extra challenge in that the hot water heater has gone out.  No shower after.  Now that should be interesting.........

Off to the garage.  Thanks for reading.......
