Quartzsite Day Trip

Justback from Quartzsite. Very exhausted but exhilarated!
First stop was to meet up with Tom and Jessa Pearson and look at some of the stunning material Tom has been digging. The Pearsonite is beautiful! Not sure if it is an jasper or a rhyolite but looks like it will take an amazing polish. Just might have to put a piece in the saw tomorrow. They also had some Mystery Mountain Cathedral Agate that is just stunning. Unfortunately it is a narrow seam agate, too small for spheres. I also have some beautiful Lost Ridge Agate that is some of the most stunning moss agate I have seen in a long while. Looks like this will be a material that will take forever to grind to round. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!
Our next stop was to the Pow Wow. The first person we saw was Kevin. He just happened to have some Magnetite in Black Jade. Of coarse the sphering piece came home with us. next on to Phillip S for some Spider-man. Unfortunately the pieces aren't real big, but I have been promised photos of larger pieces that can be shipped to me.
We then ran into Jeremy. He is a local boy that does a lot of collecting in the Cady Mountains. His new materials, Top Notch and Red Eye Moss agates are unlike anything I have seen coming out of those mountains. We have an invite to go with him on one of his trips. We will really need to follow up on that invite.
Our last stop was for Alan to pick out some more Sodalite. He makes me giggle sometimes. Nags at my rock buying, but his is great choices. I highly doubt I will be allowed to sphere either piece he picked.
Exciting day! Thanks for reading......
