Red Nail Polish.

I have blogged before about my red nail polish for the spheres. Generally works well to mark the flat spots during the rough grind. I have discovered that it does not work for all spheres.
Case in point. When grinding Blood Stone spheres, red polish does not work! As it gets smaller, it becomes difficult to distinguish the polish from the flexes of red naturally occurring in the stone. Twice on the same small sphere, I have had to go back to rough grind. Grrrrr.
Also in the rough grind stage is another Blood Stone, Blue Diamond Lapis from Graves mountain Ga, and a S. Wolfe rough share rock sphere.
Waiting to polish is a Pet Palm share sphere and a Squirrel Tail Stromatolite.
There is a very impressive pile of spheres just waiting for their time to rough grind.
I have finally put in the first Apple Valley Jasper from Morocco. I find this material intriguing in it's small paisley patterns. Reminds me of my favorite blouse growing up. I have cut 2 sides of the boulder and it appears to be solid.
I am also ready to cube an Oregon Picture rock from an unknown location. I will need to work around fractures with this one and also the hammer drill holes we did to break it into small pieces. Nice blues, yellow and reds.......
I think I may have finally sphered at least one of each of my winter purchases. I have worked very hard to sphere at least one of everything. I am trying to avoid the "you don't need that rock, you haven't cut into all the ones from last winter" comment from the peanut gallery. Now I can go back and do some repeats.
It will be a short month for sphering. We will be going to Oregon for the eclipse. Have to go to our happy place on the coast too. If I am going to get into the Tucson club show in February, I think I might need more inventory. We shall see what happens with that.
Thanks for reading......
