Scratches!

Succor Creek Jasper is right up there with the Petrified wood in the scratch department.  I spent 2.5 hours on 400 poly cups trying to get rid of them and they are still there.  Normally a sphere only needs 20 minutes before it would be ready to go on the the next stage.  The sphere looks beautiful until I get out the magnifying glass, then you see them!  I do not see them without magnifying, but the camera doesn't lie when I take photos for the site.  I have gone back to the oil way and have it on the slow machine using messy 200 grit.

Alan cubed up some Argentinian Fluorite over the weekend.  Not large cubes but clear.  I have gotten the corners cut off so they are ready for hand grinding.

The large saw has Norwegian Thulite in it.  This material sure does sing in the saws.  Much different from the previous material I cut.  It is much darker in color and has more clear quartz mixed in.

Tomorrow is the big day!  I am filling out my retirement paperwork.  Yippee!!!!!
