Still Grinding!

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 27th Feb 2017

The second Dead Camel Jasper sphere is still grinding.  Over the last 21 hours of grinding I have managed to go from a dot that was quarter sized to now nickel sized.  I am making progress.  Ever so slowly.

In the mean time I have managed to completely finish a Lapis Lace sphere and an Ocean Jasper sphere.  I feel like I am finally getting back into the swing of things.

Tomorrow the spinel in matrix sphere will go onto the high speed machine (after the dentist).  I should still be able to get it finished tomorrow.  I also will grind the points off the Carrisite.  Tough stuff!  My second piece is in the saw and the saw is complaining big time. I think I will need to lay off the hardest of material for awhile.

I have one cube of Australian Crazy Lace finished and a second almost there.  Just waiting for a saw to open up for the corners to come off.  Should be interesting.  This material is very different than the previous I have worked.

Currently a second Lapis Lace and a English Barrite are being cornered.  I am hoping I can repeat my performance.

I also need to start getting ready for the Monrovia Rock and Gem Show at the LA Arboretum this weekend.  Busy busy.  How did I do this when I was working full time?
