That Last Dot .....A Watched Pot Never Boils.

As I was working a Rainbow Ridge Sphere this morning, I just couldn't get rid of that last red dot.  See the blog about red finger nail polish if you are wondering about that.  I thought of my Gram and her always saying a "watched pot never boils."  That is exactly how I felt watching that lone red dot.

Started thinking of all the other idioms that would apply to sphere making, or lapidary in general.  Here goes:

I better not "quit my day job" for lapidary yet.  I wouldn't want to "put all my eggs in that basket".  I know that in the "heat of the moment" I will buy rocks that "cost an arm and a leg".  But, "you can't judge a book by it's cover" and sometimes they fall apart on me.  I won't "cry over spilt mild" though, I'll just "go back to the drawing board" and start over.  "To make a long story short", there is a "method to my madness" but I may be "off my rocker".  HaHa very corny!

So, the rainbow ledge is finally round.  Slowly working my way through the different cups.  As always everything takes much longer than I would like it to.  I have to figure, considering the length of time it took Mother Nature to make the rock to begin with, whats a few extra days to make it shine.

Have a good weekend and Father's Day to all.
