The Elves Didn't Come.

We are back from the West Coast Gem and mineral Show.  I was hoping the elves would be busy while we were gone.  They didn't run the sphere machines at all!  Was Thinking that they could at least get the Tiffany Stone, Shattuckite and Zebra Agate spheres round.  Darn those elves.

Made an excellent contact at the show!  This is a family that has been in this business for 4 generations.  The materials they must have!  So I am a shoe in to get into the Tucson Club show at the auditorium next February, should I decide to do it.  Also, they are looking for someone to make some spheres of the more unusual material that they have.  I can either be paid in cash or in material.  Wow!  The list is many things I have heard of but never seen.  I am really considering this as an option.   It is one way to be able to make spheres out of things I would never be able to afford to buy.  They are very well know in the lapidary community.  Hmmmm.

It was also a great show to hook up with some sphere makers from the San Diego area.  Alan tends to run for the hills when more than 2 come into the room.  At one point I should have just closed the door, broke out the wine, and called it a day.  Discussions get slightly animated when talking about making spheres.  LOL!

Still haven't finished unloading the truck.  I am waiting for it to be in the shade.  It is too early for this 90+ weather.  Next weekend we are off to Prescott for our anniversary then it will be time to get ready for the Federation Show in Ventura.  I think I will never be able to make spheres again.  Looking forward to the 8 weeks I have off from mid July to the end of September.

Thanks for reading....
