The results of yesterdays purchase.

I have started cutting some of the rock I picked up yesterday. I have almost a cube of the Mexican material. I have yet to see plumes in it, but it is showing a beautiful gold and black moss agate. I has much potential. This cube will be 3 inches. The other 3 pieces I brought home are larger.
The Bumble Bee Jasper is heart stopping! If you can get on FB, you really need to stop by the Rock n Spheres page to get a look at it. I knew the one end was vivid colors but the other end is just as amazing. It looks like the band goes straight through. It's just beautiful!
I am almost finished with the corners of a Binthalya sphere. It has an intriguing patten in it that would come out nicely.
The sphere machines have been running all day. The Mexican crazy lace sphere has just one small dot yet. It just doesn't want to go away. Then there is the Fantasy Jasper. (The previous one I dropped and shattered it) That material is hard as all get out too. Still have a really long time to go there. The slow machine has a fire mountain sphere grinding on it. I would usually take it off and wait for a faster machine at this point, alas, I have nothing else ready to go on it.
The saws are still acting up. Not sure what else to replace on the 24". It does all right with softer materials, but does not like jasper and agates. The smallest 18" is going well now that Alan has replaced all the pulleys and belts. The middle 18" may be a lost cause and need all new guts. UGH!
I really should be starting to get ready for the Joshua Tree Gem and Mineral Show. We leave on Tuesday. I just need to get some more rock time in.......
Thanks for reading.
