Winterizing.

Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 25th Oct 2020

The last 2 days have been spent getting ready for winter.  We have planted 2 trees. mulched the flower beds and gotten the fruit trees ready.  Tomorrow starts our lows in the 20's.I know for may of you this is nothing.  Today we pick all the green tomatoes and the last of the zucchini.

I am almost finished cubing the first Carrasite boulder.  Today the second 90+ pounder goes into a saw.  The 24" saws are not quite large enough for rocks this size.  They complain a lot and have to have frequent rests during a cut.  This allows the blade to cool.  Time consuming, but well worth the effort.  I am happy with the material cut so far.   I might even get a Grave yard point Pink lady is a saw today.

I believe I have stock piled enough spheres to keep the high speed machines running while grinding the Carrasite.  I anticipate they will be slow grinds for each.
