Working hard
Posted by Bev Darby, Rock n Spheres on 7th Dec 2021
Its been a busy week juggling all I want to get completed! Today is a grocery shopping day so i won't be getting much done.
I have 3 spheres ready to go to polish. These were all in the reject box as they weren't working up nice the first time around. They are a unusual cold/patten tiffany stone, Yittrium fluorite and a Sonora Sunrise. Wednesday will be the day for them.
In the works is another orange purple Tiffany Stone that a chip came out so am grinding to get below it. There are 2 larger Argentinian Blue Calcites being worked with grit. (They do not like diamond.) Waiting for a cup change is another Blue Calcite, a Pinolith, 2 Howlites, an Australian Lepidolite and a Shattuckite. Wednesday will be busy.
In the saws being cubed is a massive boulder of Yittrium. I believe this is the last that I have. I have so many cubes already made up and will only be working the softer materials for now.
On the home front, the eldest lost his smell and taste yesterday. Should have his official results back tomorrow but the home test was grossly positive. So far that and a runny nose are his only symptoms. Was scheduled for his booster shot tomorrow. That won't be happening. Hope he has a mild case!
