Howlite Sphere, Tick Canyon, Ca, 3.3 inches in diameter.
Tick Canyon Howlite is from the Sterling Borax Mine, owned by US Borax Co, and is located in the Antelope Valley north of Los Angeles. It is currently closed to general collecting. Howlite is white with grey or black Magnesite webbing and may have a yellow color in patches from Colemanite. The Colemanite fluoresces. It takes a mirror polish. It is sometimes sold as white buffalo turquoise but is unrelated. It is thought to relieve stress of all kinds, or absorb your anger or anger that is directed towards you
I am not sure why this sphere turned out yellowish in the photos. It is truly white.
