Strawberry Onyx Sphere, 3.9 inches in diameter.
Located in the Bristol mountains to the north and east on Ludlow, Ca , this area is now part of the California desert protection act. I do not know the current collecting status. Signs in the area make it appear to be closed to all vehicles.
We have only been here once. That was right before the protection act was finalized. It was a large group that went in organized by the CMF. Hard rock mining. we were able to bring out several large pieces. The material is mostly off-white with swirly pink patterns of varying shades. It takes an stunning polish.
