Travertine Sphere from Aerial Acres. This sphere is 3 3/4 inches of browns, red, grey and white with a brilliant shine. Bedded in volcanic ash and fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle, this travertine comes in amazing colors. Most is banded reds, browns, whate black, gold or pink, but can be a patch work of colors. It is highly crystallized. Claimed by the Sierra Pelona Lapidary club, it is located east of Mojave, CA at North Edwards. Many long winter weekends were spent here when our kids were little. It¿s a gentle slope of desert where we could dig while the kids played super-soakers with in eye sight.
