Trona Onyx Sphere "Jaguar" style. Dendrites abound in this 3 1/8 inch sphere giving it a "jaguar" appearing effect. This source for Onyx comes from outside Trona Ca. It is located at the top of a mountain. Of course, it is embedded in a heavy ash that requires chisels and picks to remove it. We found the best time to dig is after a rainstorm when the ash is softer. Unfortunately this area is outside of Death Valley and rain is a rare occurrence. This material has amazing "eyes" and takes a mirror polish.
